NICKNAME: Ironside,
GENRE OF MUSIC: I play all suitable genre from the 50's through to present day
LANGUAGE: English
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF:
I am a recycled teenager who started with hospital radio
in 2010 after suffering a stroke a few years earlier, I have been involved with music for
most of my life having played the trumpet and guitar for many years, as
well as running a mobile disco in the 70's.
WHAT IS YOUR SHOW ABOUT? My
show goes out twice a week, Wednesdays show is a bit of everything
covering requests and all the hits and misses
from the last 60 years. Fridays show is totally 1960's, each week
covering a different top 20 from any timein the decade. Both include
requests, dedications and quizzes. There's also a little theme tune
quiz throne in just to keep the listener on the ball, some Wednesday
shows are based on
a theme that links everything together
FAVOURITE GROUP: I don't have a particular favorite, but any tracks that you can understand the words or an instrumental track will suffice.
WHAT CHR MEANS TO ME: CHR is a way that I can be involved with a good team of people who are all
after the same goal, and that is to make sure that the patients in the
hospital are kept entertained and occupied while they are in the hospital, also to me it is a way of repaying a bit of what
I have received from the hospital.
A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY: Born and bred
in Coventry many
years ago, I was educated at President Kennedy School. During the 70's I
was a weekend Dj at The Alhambra in the city centre, unfortunately due
to progress this venue is no longer there, it used to stand behind
Sainsbury's where today you can find BBC CWR , I am happily married
with 3 grown up children and 6 grandchildren to keep me occupied.
