CAMPAIGNER PLAYS LEADING ROLE IN LOTTERY GOOD CAUSES 16TH September 2013
	A woman with an extremely rare and potentially fatal skin condition was a special guest on CHR with presenters Simon Tidmarsh and Joe Challis after helping a charity be crowned the UK's favourite health project. Nusrit Shaheen, from Foleshill, is a member of the Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG). The 29-year-old has played a leading role in campaigning for ISG in this year’s National Lottery Awards in their search for the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded good causes. The charity has only one part-time member of staff but has fought off competition from larger rivals to attract almost 5,000 votes and claim the Best Health project title.

DIRECTOR JOE HARMSTON TALKS ABOUT A NEW MUSICAL THE PRODIGALS 2nd August 2013
	Director Joe Harmston had a chat with Sat Dhaiwal from Coventry Hospital Radio about a new military themed musical The Prodigals which opens on The Belgrade Theatre's Main Stage from 30 Aug to 14 Sept 2013. The Prodigals is a fast-moving, highly-energised new musical which began life at The Edinburgh Festival and now begins a new life at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry with celebrated West End actor, Simon Bowman leading the cast. COVENTRY HOSPITAL RADIO FUNDRAISER AT COVENTRY MARKET 25th July 2013
	On Saturday 20th July Coventry Hospital Radio held a sponsored relay DJ event at Coventry Market. The volunteers from Coventry Hospital Radio hosted a show relay between 10am and 4pm to raise vital funds for the purchase of new equipment. Teams of presenters hosted one-hour slots throughout the day playing requests and dedications, chatting to the stall holders and the customers at the market as well as holding a raffle and running a recruitment drive to try and get new volunteers.

HOSPITAL BROADCASTING WEEK 2013 18th March 2013
	Hospital Broadcasting week is upon us once again, it starts with the National Hospital Radio Awards ceremony on the evening of Saturday 23rd March, and then runs through until Easter Monday, 1st April. and we are celebrating in style! Starting from Noon on the day of the awards Coventry Hospital Radio will be checking in LIVE with the preparations for the National HBA Radio Awards in Blackpool..........

COVENTRYS LORD MAYOR VISITS COVENTRY HOSPITAL RADIO 16th December 2012
	In December 2012 the Lord Mayor of Coventry Tim Sawdon paid us a visit at the CHR studio's where he had a chat on air with Coventry Hospital Radio Presenters Colum Nugent and Harjinder Semhi. Mr Sawdon then went on to wish everyone at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire a very merry christmas.

OLYMPIC TORCH LIGHTS UP CHILDRENS WARD

Torch bearer Tony Worth lit up the childrens ward at University Hospital Coventry when he
bought in his Olympic Torch for staff and patients.

Tony was one of 8000 torch bearers who have travelled the length and breadth of the country
carrying the flame. On the day of the opening ceremony he visited the childrens ward and
spent time being interviewed by Coventry Hospital Radio for a show which was broadcast
later to patients on the hospital wards.

Tony, an accountant from Coventry, said: "My wife nominated me as a torch bearer and
when I found I was successful I was over the moon. Since then I've been honoured to
have the chance to meet people and explain my story.

RIP ANNA. CHR PRESENTER DIES AT THE AGE OF 25

It is with sad regret that one of CHR's Volunteer Presenters has died after a long illness.

Anna Chandler spent her life battling with brittle bone disease yet the brave 25 year-old won the hearts of staff and patients at University Hospital with her regular radio show, Half Pint.

She was also known to many as a star of the Secret Millionaire show, where she was awarded £3,000 to fund her dream holiday to America to meet her friends. Despite the generous donation from the Sue Stone Foundation she was sadly too sick to travel to the United States before she died.

Martin Kahan, a fellow volunteer presenter at Coventry Hospital Radio, dedicated his show yesterday to Anna. He said: “Life wasn’t easy for Anna, but she still had time for other people.
